time to get back to it...hopefully

it is so hard to blog these days. why? because technology has taken over our lives! we have photo stream, instagram, a blog, texting, email...are any of these pictures new to people...nope. but all those things will eventually go away i'm sure. all those will become outdated and we will move on. so i must blog and print a book so one day the kids can have some stinkin' pictures to go with their memories! the kids are growing up so fast it seems so we try to enjoy our time the best we can. we have had a crazy mild winter so we hit the park in our one day to be home subdivision up on cave springs the other day. it is awesome, austin can already go all over it and only makes me gasp about ten times each hour as he gets way too close to the edge up high. they have a blast though. we have come to learn that as long as he is outside, he is content. bo passed away last week which was crazy hard on paul, an emotional lesson for courtney and even sad at times for me. i still will look out and look for him when i do dishes. on the positive side of that; the kids (mainly austin) can now go outback freely with the lack of dog poo and food as temptations. he literally began moving to the backyard the day we left the door open for him. he would take a truck out back, play for a minute or two, head back inside, say 'outside' and pick up something else and start all over again. i do believe we have one point two million toys in the backyard at this moment in time. also a positive - we now have one point two million less toys in the house at this point. always thinking positive, right? courtney is doing awesome in kindergarten; we still love the choice we made to do half school half homeschool as we really enjoy our days together and i love helping her learn and watching her grow and improve. it amazes me what she is already learning about and how fast she picks things up. sometimes i feel like i should teach her everything now while she is able to learn so fast! austin is a babbling mess. he is all boy all the time - well, unless he's in a mommy mode which is always nice. he talks up a storm - says soooo many words. we are officially in the "my family understands everything I say and everyone else gives me that "huh" look" phase. he says so many things i don't think i can remember them all...we have started teaching him abc's and 123's. i say a, he says b. i say one, he says two. that is exactly what courtney used to do! i love how he does things she used to that makes me remember her at that age. he has started saying i love you (eh too) and calls us mommy and daddy now which melts out hearts. the first day he called paul daddy we both literally teared up. i think it was the most precious moment with him yet. we sure are blessed and thankful for these little ones!

the end of the year yet again

where does time go? i do not know! into our kids. into our marriage. into kindergarten. into church. and into family i suppose. i always say i will get better at blogging. i won't miss so many posts. i will keep up. well. i won't. it's only going to get worse for a while. a five year old in kindergarten and me being her teacher two days a week along with a toddler just doesn't leave all that much time for blogging. oh. i will keep up. there definitely won't be a shortage of pictures. and the kids will have plenty to look back on and remember but i am not going to say yet again that i wish to do more. i am happy with my time and how i spend it. less technology has been our household motto since november and times as a family and mommy have never been better. so. to another year. more memories. more 'firsts'. enjoy the last round of 2012 pictures.

look who's walking

oh yeah. little man is walking. he took his first steps a couple of weeks ago then never again to walk...for two weeks. he just wasn't interested. put him on his feet and he would drop to his knees. but. this past weekend, when uncle westen and hanna were here, our little man decided he would take walking back up. he can go as far as he wants now...until he gets to what he wants then he plops down.  it's fun. it's new for him. and it's exciting for us. gotta love him and how stinkin' cute he is!

let it begin...

i. love. baseball. no, i don't watch it all that much. but i love it. i love to play it. i love to watch it. and now i love to watch courtney play it. tball started for her yesterday and i was c r a z y excited! she had a blast, she loved to play, and she did great. when the game started i told paul they can have five parents out on the field...he says "i don't want to be that dad". half way into the inning he says "i'm going out there". an inning later he sends me a text saying "i love this". needless to say, we are proud...once again of our little girl. i played baseball for years. was the only girl and to see courtney out there is just so much fun. but most of all, she enjoys it. i will never make he do things because i love them and thankfully i didn't have to test that with baseball. isn't she adorable!!!!???

i love taking pictures

just some recent iPhone pictures.

i will one day miss these days

daddy has been out of town for five days. ..which i can post now that he will be home... courtney and i always have had the agreement that when daddy works late or is out of town she can sleep in our bed. as i laid down last night and looked over...i realized that i will one day miss this view. i pray...literally...that we will always be close enough that she will come lay in bed with me when daddy is away or her husband is away. it may sound silly or even weird but it's my baby girl and these are some of my favorite times. the "i love you mommy" whisper as she rolls over. the times she puts her arm over me as she sleeps. and even the not so gentle kicks in the middle of the night. i will one day miss these days.

ode to the pump

good bye dear friend. it's been great. it's been fun. but now my baby boy is one. the hours i have spent with you outweigh to whom i said "i do". it's time we go our separate ways and I can once again enjoy my days. i wish i could say i'll miss you but that would just not be true. i must let you go and free the freezer too. so. goodbye is what i'll leave you with.

good. bye. my. dear. breast. pump.
